DESMOND NISH
From the age of 5 to 17, I attended school as a boarder where weekly church attendance was compulsory. This resulted in an intense dislike developing in me for anything to do with religion. Things, however, were to change radically when one night at the age of17 I found Christ as my Personal Saviour in a Gospel Service. In literally one moment of time the dislike had turned into an intense love for God’s people and an insatiable appetite for His wonderful word, which later lead to me producing various studies to assist others in their journey.
Today, after sixty-four years of following Christ, that love and appetite flow unabated as strongly as ever as well as my passion to see the saints equipped “for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…” – Eph 4:12
The Elementary Principles of Christ
Hebrews 5:12 says “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food.” This study unpacks each of the 6 elementary principles of Christ that precede spiritual maturity/perfection: 1. Dead works; 2. Faith toward God; 3. The doctrine of baptisms; 4. Laying on of hands; 5. Resurrection of the dead; and 6. Eternal judgment.
